I’m a photojournalistic-style photographer, which means that I like my photos to document the event that I’m shooting. I also like to have each picture that I take tell a story – like you just look at the image and you can think in your mind what’s going on in that person’s head right then. I love doing headshots and am just starting to build that part of my business. I work mainly in southern California – west Los Angeles (westside), South Bay, Santa Monica, the San Fernando Valley, Orange County and will travel on location just about anywhere. I’ve been to Ireland, Napa Valley and still shoot in Minneapolis and Chicago (where I used to live). I also started doing quite a few events where I’ll just show up, take party pictures and then deliver those on CD to the event organizer. That’s been a pretty good gig for me and I’d love to do more of them. Special events, fundraisers, birthday parties, reunions, launch parties, wrap parties, premiere parties, fashion week parties, documentation of anything really. I also do maternity photography, children’s photography, family portraits. I can also do table top product shots and landscape photography. I have a great personality which, I think, helps me really add to everyone’s experience, no matter what I’m shooting. I’m a woman, which I think also helps a great deal, especially in wedding photography. I’m very good at being a fly on the wall and just watching what’s going on so that I can find the best shots. I shoot with Canon equipment (some people want to know that...) and I’ve been doing this for over 20 years now (my first paying gig was when I was 17 – I did candids at my cousin’s wedding). My personality really helps me take great pictures. I’ve been told several times that I did a great job at an event before someone even saw my work.
